Who created the television series Bluey?

Joe Brumm created the television series Bluey.

Brumm conceived the idea while working as an animator on British children’s programmes, including Charlie and Lola. Drawing on his experience raising two daughters, he wanted to show children engaging in imaginative, self-directed play rather than presenting lessons through formal instruction.

He first developed Bluey through his company Studio Joho, producing a one-minute sample in 2016 with a small team. Ludo Studio then helped expand the concept into a longer pilot and a full series. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC co-commissioned the programme in 2017, with Ludo Studio producing it in Queensland.

The other names in the options have important roles but are not the creator: Joff Bush composed the music, while David McCormack and Melanie Zanetti voice Bandit and Chilli. Brumm also wrote most of the early episodes and directed the first series. Bluey premiered on ABC Kids in Australia on 1 October 2018 and became known for combining Australian settings with universal family experiences.
