Parramatta Eels is the Australian rugby league club known as the Eels.

The club is based in Parramatta, a major centre in western Sydney, and competes in the National Rugby League. Parramatta entered the New South Wales Rugby League competition in 1947, making it one of the later-established Sydney clubs compared with the foundation teams of 1908.

The Eels won four consecutive premierships from 1981 through 1983, then added another title in 1986. Their successful 1980s side featured stars including Brett Kenny, Peter Sterling, Mick Cron and Eric Grothe.

The nickname is central to the club’s identity and appears in its official name, branding and supporter culture. Parramatta’s home ground has changed over time, with CommBank Stadium becoming its modern home venue.
