Which Audi sports car was produced from 1998 to 2023?
Answer
Audi TT
Answer
Audi TT
The Audi sports car produced from 1998 to 2023 was the Audi TT.
Audi introduced the TT in 1998 as a compact sports car with a distinctive rounded design inspired by the 1995 TT concept. It was sold as both a 2+2 coupe and a two-seat Roadster, and its name refers to the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races, although Audi did not create the car as a race replica.
The first two generations used bodyshells produced and painted in Germany before final assembly in Hungary. The third generation was built more extensively at Audi’s Győr plant. Depending on the version, the TT used front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive.
The TT was sometimes mistaken for a conventional rear-wheel-drive sports car, but its architecture was closely related to Audi’s front-engine, transverse-platform models such as the A3. Audi ended production in November 2023 after three generations and a total of about 662,762 cars.
