Which Assassin's Creed protagonist is a Renaissance nobleman from Florence?

The story behind the answer

Ezio Auditore is the Assassin's Creed protagonist who begins as a Renaissance nobleman from Florence.

Ezio is the central character of Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. His story begins in late-fifteenth-century Italy, where the execution of members of his family draws him into the Assassin-Templar conflict.

Assassin's Creed II follows his transformation from young Florentine nobleman into a trained Assassin. Brotherhood moves much of the action to Rome, while Revelations follows Ezio to Constantinople and connects his story with Altaïr's.

Ezio is sometimes described simply as an Italian Assassin, but his full name is Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The phrase “da Firenze” means “of Florence,” identifying his family’s origin. His trilogy remains one of the franchise’s most recognizable character arcs.
