Which Assassin's Creed game stars Edward Kenway as its central character?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag stars Edward Kenway as its central character.

Edward is a Welsh privateer who becomes involved with the Assassins and Templars during the Golden Age of Piracy. The game is set mainly in the Caribbean in the early eighteenth century and combines land-based stealth with naval exploration and combat.

Edward is the father of Haytham Kenway, who appears in Assassin's Creed III, and the grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor. This makes Black Flag part of a connected Kenway family storyline.

Although Edward is initially motivated by profit and personal ambition, his experiences gradually change his understanding of freedom, loyalty, and the Assassin cause. The game is often remembered for its ship customization, sea shanties, and open-world sailing.
