Answer
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag stars Edward Kenway, a Welsh pirate who becomes an Assassin.
Released in 2013, Black Flag is set mainly in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy, around 1715. Edward begins as a privateer seeking wealth and status, then steals the identity of an Assassin and becomes involved in the conflict between Assassins and Templars. His actions eventually connect him to historical pirates including Blackbeard, Charles Vane, and Anne Bonny.
The game is part of the Kenway family storyline introduced in Assassin's Creed III. Edward is the father of Haytham Kenway and the grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton, also known as Connor. Although the title continues the modern-day framing narrative, its ship exploration, naval combat, and open Caribbean world became its defining features. It is sometimes confused with Assassin's Creed Rogue, which also emphasizes ships but follows Templar protagonist Shay Cormac.
