Which Assassin's Creed game is set during the Viking invasion of ninth-century England?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is set during the Viking invasion of ninth-century England.

The game follows Eivor, a Viking raider who leaves Norway and establishes a settlement in England. Its story takes place during the period when several Anglo-Saxon kingdoms were competing for power and Scandinavian armies were campaigning across the region.

Eivor's settlement becomes a base for alliances and exploration. The game includes areas associated with historical kingdoms such as Wessex, Mercia, East Anglia, and Northumbria. It also returns to the conflict between the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients, the organization that precedes the Templars.

Valhalla was released in 2020. Although its Viking setting is central, the game also includes a modern-day storyline and a substantial section in Norway. Its ninth-century English setting distinguishes it from Odyssey's ancient Greece and Origins' Ptolemaic Egypt.
