Which Assassin's Creed game introduced the series' first playable protagonist from ancient Greece, Kassandra or Alexios?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Odyssey introduced the series' first playable protagonist from ancient Greece, allowing players to choose Kassandra or Alexios. The game was released in 2018 and is set during the Peloponnesian War.

Players select one sibling at the beginning, and that choice determines the playable character for the story. Kassandra is the canon protagonist in later official continuity, while Alexios can still be selected by players. Both are descendants of Leonidas I through their family line.

Odyssey follows Assassin's Creed Origins chronologically, but Origins is set in ancient Egypt and stars Bayek of Siwa. Odyssey predates the formal establishment of the Assassin Brotherhood, so its central conflict involves the Cult of Kosmos and the wider First Civilization mythology rather than an already organized Brotherhood.
