Which Assassin's Creed game follows Ezio Auditore as he becomes a Master Assassin in Rome?

The story behind the answer

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood follows Ezio Auditore as he becomes a Master Assassin in Rome.

Ubisoft Montreal developed Brotherhood, which was released in 2010. It continues directly from Assassin's Creed II and begins after the attack on Monteriggioni, sending Ezio to Rome to oppose the Borgia family and rebuild the local Assassin Brotherhood.

The game expanded the series with recruitable Assassins. Ezio can train members of the Brotherhood and call them into missions, creating a distinctive support system that was not central to the previous game. Rome also serves as the principal open-world setting.

Brotherhood is sometimes mistakenly treated as a simple expansion of Assassin's Creed II, but Ubisoft presented it as a full standalone sequel. Assassin's Creed Revelations followed in 2011 and concluded Ezio's storyline while also returning to Altaïr's history.
