Ezio Auditore is the master assassin featured in Assassin’s Creed II. He is introduced as a young Florentine nobleman whose family is executed after a political conspiracy, leading him to join the Assassin Brotherhood and seek justice.
Assassin’s Creed II follows Ezio across Renaissance Italy, including Florence, Monteriggioni, Venice, and Forlì. The game spans much of his development from an inexperienced young man into a highly skilled Assassin, making his personal growth a central part of the story.
Ezio also appears in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations. Together, these three games are often called the Ezio trilogy. They portray different stages of his life, from his campaigns in Renaissance Rome to his later search for Altaïr’s legacy in Constantinople.
Ezio is sometimes confused with Altaïr, the protagonist of the first game, or with Edward Kenway, the pirate protagonist of Black Flag. Their stories occur in different historical periods and feature separate family lines.
