Which Assassin's Creed character is the central protagonist of Assassin's Creed II?

Ezio Auditore da Firenze is the central protagonist of Assassin's Creed II.

The game follows Ezio from his youth in Florence into his development as an Assassin. Its story unfolds across Renaissance Italy, including Florence, Monteriggioni, Venice, and the Vatican. Ezio becomes involved in the Assassin–Templar conflict after a conspiracy destroys much of his family, turning a personal struggle into a wider historical mission.

Ezio also stars in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations. This makes him the only Assassin to headline three main series games. Altaïr leads the first game, Connor Kenway leads Assassin's Creed III, and Arno Dorian is the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Unity. Ezio's full name is sometimes shortened in casual references, but “Ezio Auditore da Firenze” is the character's canonical full name.
