Jay-Z features with Beyoncé on “Crazy in Love.”
The song was released in 2003 as the lead single from Beyoncé’s debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. Beyoncé sings the main vocal, while Jay-Z delivers a rap verse near the beginning of the track. The collaboration also reflected their then-emerging relationship and became one of the defining recordings of early-2000s pop and R&B.
“Crazy in Love” was produced by Rich Harrison and Beyoncé, with a prominent horn sample from the Chi-Lites’ 1970 song “Are You My Woman (Tell Me So).” Its energetic arrangement and instantly recognizable brass line helped it reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song earned Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Beyoncé and Jay-Z later performed it together many times, making it a recurring centerpiece of their live appearances.
