Which artist/band put out the CD, "By The Way"?
Answer
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Answer
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The artist that released the CD By the Way was the Red Hot Chili Peppers. By the Way is the American rock band’s eighth studio album, released on July 9, 2002, by Warner Bros. Records.
The album followed Californication, the 1999 record that helped reestablish the band commercially after guitarist John Frusciante returned to the lineup. Producer Rick Rubin again worked with the group, while Frusciante’s melodic guitar parts and vocal harmonies became especially prominent throughout By the Way.
The album contains several of the band’s best-known songs, including the title track, “The Zephyr Song,” “Can’t Stop,” and “Universally Speaking.” Although the Red Hot Chili Peppers were famous for funk-driven grooves, By the Way leaned more heavily into melody, layered harmonies, and polished alternative rock.
A frequent mix-up is treating “By the Way” as only a single. It is both the title of the album and the first single released from it. The album reached number two on the Billboard 200 and became one of the group’s most successful releases.
