Which Arctic marine mammal uses tusks to haul itself onto sea ice?

The story behind the answer

The walrus is the Arctic marine mammal that uses tusks to haul itself onto sea ice.

Both male and female walruses have elongated canine teeth called tusks. They can use them to help pull their heavy bodies out of the water, although the tusks also serve in displays, competition, and defence. Walruses have thick whiskers, called vibrissae, that help them locate clams and other bottom-dwelling prey.

Walruses are highly social and often gather in large groups on sea ice or coastal haul-outs. Two living subspecies are generally recognized: the Atlantic walrus and the Pacific walrus. They are not seals, despite being pinnipeds; their prominent tusks and external ear flaps distinguish them from true seals.
