Which anniversary did Woodstock '94 commemorate?

Woodstock ’94 commemorated the 25th anniversary of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. The revival was held August 12–14, 1994, at Winston Farm near Saugerties, New York, about 70 miles northeast of the original site near Bethel.

Organizers promoted the event with the slogan “2 More Days of Peace and Music,” echoing the ideals and branding of the first festival. Although planned around a two-day weekend, a Friday program was added, making the event three days long. Performers included established stars and younger acts associated with alternative rock, grunge, hip-hop, and other 1990s styles.

The anniversary event became famous for its rain and mud, especially after storms struck the site. Roughly 164,000 tickets were sold, while estimates of the total crowd reached about 350,000. It is easy to confuse the festival’s anniversary with its location: Woodstock ’94 was in Saugerties, not at the original Bethel site, and the later Woodstock ’99 took place in Rome, New York.
