Which American city hosted the first Electric Daisy Carnival in 1997?
Answer
Los Angeles
Answer
Los Angeles
Los Angeles hosted the first Electric Daisy Carnival in 1997.
The event began as an electronic dance music gathering in Los Angeles, California. It was later developed and expanded by Insomniac, the entertainment company founded by Pasquale Rotella, and became one of the largest electronic music festivals in North America.
Electric Daisy Carnival subsequently moved through several venues and cities. Its best-known modern edition is held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where the festival became associated with large-scale stages, carnival rides, lighting installations and late-night dance sets.
The move to Las Vegas sometimes leads people to identify Las Vegas as the festival’s birthplace. That is incorrect: Las Vegas became its major long-term home, while the inaugural 1997 event was held in Los Angeles.
