Bon Iver released the 2011 alternative folk album 'Bon Iver, Bon Iver'.
The album was the second studio release by the project led by Justin Vernon. It followed the acclaimed debut 'For Emma, Forever Ago' and expanded the sound with layered vocals, horns, strings, synthesizers, and contributions from several musicians. Each song is named after a place, including 'Perth', 'Holocene', and 'Calgary'.
The album won the Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best New Artist in 2012. Although Bon Iver began as a solo recording project, the album's arrangements and touring lineup involved a broader ensemble.
