Which alternative rock band recorded the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik?

The alternative rock band that recorded the 1991 album Blood Sugar Sex Magik was Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik was the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ fifth studio album, released on 24 September 1991 by Warner Bros. Records. The band recorded it at the Mansion, a former house in Los Angeles, with producer Rick Rubin. The unusual setting became part of the album’s mythology.

The record produced major songs including “Under the Bridge,” “Give It Away,” and “Suck My Kiss.” “Under the Bridge” became one of the group’s best-known songs and helped bring its blend of funk, punk, and rock to a much wider audience.

The album is often associated with the early-1990s alternative-rock boom, although the band’s style also drew heavily from funk rock. Guitarist John Frusciante left the group during the subsequent tour but later returned for several periods.
