The Zigerions try to steal Rick’s Concentrated Dark Matter recipe.
In “M. Night Shaym-Aliens!,” the Zigerions abduct Rick and Jerry and place them inside nested simulations. Their goal is to trick Rick into revealing the formula for Concentrated Dark Matter, a substance that enables extremely fast space travel. Morty is also drawn into the simulated scenario, while Jerry is distracted by his ill-fated apple advertising idea.
Rick realizes that the aliens are running a scam, but he deliberately supplies a deceptive recipe. The ingredients appear to be cesium, plutonic quarks, and bottled water. When the Zigerions attempt to reproduce the mixture, their ship explodes, showing that Rick had outsmarted them. The Zigerions are therefore not the Gromflomites, Gazorpians, or Cromulons: they are the con-artist aliens at the center of this episode.
