Folklore won Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammys and features Taylor Swift’s “august.”
The award was presented at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Folklore received five Grammy nominations connected with the album and its songs, ultimately winning Album of the Year.
The victory was especially notable in Swift’s career because it marked her third Album of the Year win. She became the first woman to win the category three times, following earlier victories for Fearless and 1989.
“august” itself was not the Album of the Year winner; the award recognized the album Folklore. The distinction matters because individual songs and full albums compete in separate Grammy categories, and Folklore’s nominations included recognition for other songs such as “cardigan” and “exile.”
