Which airline was the first to use the Boeing 787-10 in commercial service in 2018?
Answer
Singapore Airlines
Answer
Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines was the first airline to use the Boeing 787-10 in commercial service in 2018.
The airline introduced the stretched 787-10 on 3 April 2018, initially flying it between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Singapore Airlines was the launch customer for the largest Dreamliner variant and received its first aircraft at Boeing’s delivery center in February 2018.
The 787-10 has the longest fuselage in the Dreamliner family, giving it more passenger and cargo capacity than the 787-8 and 787-9. Because it carries more people but has a similar basic wing and fuel system, its range is shorter than that of the smaller 787-9. It is intended mainly for medium- and long-haul routes with strong demand.
This fact concerns the 787-10 specifically. The original 787-8 entered commercial service with All Nippon Airways in 2011, while the 787-9 entered service with Air New Zealand in 2014. Those earlier launches involved different Dreamliner variants.
