Which African country's territory is partly in Asia?

Egypt is the African country whose territory is partly in Asia. Most of Egypt lies in northeastern Africa, while the Sinai Peninsula lies across the Suez Canal in Asia, making Egypt a transcontinental country.

The Suez Canal is the conventional geographic boundary between Africa and Asia. It runs from the Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea, separating the African mainland from Sinai. Egypt therefore has territory on both continents, even though the overwhelming majority of its land area and population are in Africa.

Sinai has been strategically important for thousands of years because it connects the continents and links Egypt with the Levant. It includes major historical and natural landmarks such as Mount Sinai, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
