Which African country has the capital Kinshasa and the Congo River, the continent’s deepest river?

The story behind the answer

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is the African country whose capital is Kinshasa and whose territory includes much of the Congo River.

Kinshasa stands on the southern bank of the Congo River, directly opposite Brazzaville, the capital of the separate Republic of the Congo. The river forms part of the border between the two countries near their capitals and is one of Africa’s defining geographic features.

The Congo is the world’s deepest known river, with measured depths exceeding 200 metres in some sections. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is Africa’s second-largest country by area and contains vast rainforest regions. It is commonly shortened to DR Congo to distinguish it from the neighboring Republic of the Congo.
