Joe Alwyn was credited as an additional producer on Taylor Swift’s “august” after Folklore received Grammy recognition.
The Folklore liner notes originally listed Swift and Jack Antonoff as the producers of “august.” The Recording Academy later recognized Alwyn as a co-producer of the track and the album after Folklore won Album of the Year at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Alwyn was involved in Folklore under the pseudonym William Bowery, a name also associated with songwriting and production credits elsewhere on the album. This makes the production history more complicated than the simple two-name credit often shown in early album materials.
A common mix-up is to identify Aaron Dessner as the producer of every Folklore song. Dessner was a major collaborator on the album, but the credited producers for “august” are Swift, Antonoff, and Alwyn.
