Which actress directed the first episode listed as "Pilot"?

Debbie Allen directed the first episode listed as “Pilot” in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

The episode is formally titled “The Fresh Prince Project,” though episode listings commonly identify it as “Pilot.” It premiered on NBC on September 10, 1990, introducing Will Smith’s character as a teenager from West Philadelphia who moves in with his wealthy relatives in Bel-Air.

Allen also directed the next episode, “Bang the Drum, Ashley,” making her an important early creative contributor to the series. She was already widely known as an actor, dancer, choreographer, producer, and director, especially through her work on Fame.

The other names in the options are directors credited elsewhere in the episode list. Ellen Falcon directed several season 2 episodes, while Rae Kraus and Rita Rogers Blye directed selected episodes in the first season and beyond. They did not direct the pilot.
