Which actor voices Professor Charles Xavier in season 2?

The story behind the answer

Ross Marquand voices Professor Charles Xavier in season 2 of X-Men ’97. Xavier, also known as Professor X, is the telepathic founder and mentor of the X-Men, and Marquand continues the role in the animated revival’s second season.

Marquand took over the voice of Xavier from Cedric Smith, who voiced the character in the 1990s series X-Men: The Animated Series. That makes the casting an easy point of confusion for longtime viewers: X-Men ’97 continues the earlier show’s continuity, but several roles were recast for the revival. Marquand’s performance therefore belongs to the newer series rather than the original cartoon.

Marquand also voices other characters in the X-Men ’97 universe, including the villain Apocalypse. That multi-role casting can make credits harder to remember, but Professor X remains one of his principal parts. The alternatives listed here—Gil Birmingham, Chris Potter, and Matthew Waterson—are associated with other characters, not Xavier.
