Which actor voices Detective Pikachu in the 2019 film Pokémon Detective Pikachu?

Ryan Reynolds voices Detective Pikachu in the 2019 film Pokémon Detective Pikachu.

The film is a live-action mystery adventure based loosely on the 2016 video game Detective Pikachu. Reynolds provides the voice and performance-capture work for the talking version of Pikachu, who helps Tim Goodman investigate the disappearance of Tim's father, Harry Goodman.

Unlike the regular animated Pokémon series, the film gives Pikachu a human-speaking voice and a detective persona. In the story, only Tim can understand Pikachu's speech, while other characters hear ordinary Pokémon sounds.

The movie was directed by Rob Letterman and stars Justice Smith as Tim Goodman. It was released in Japan on 3 May 2019 and in the United States on 10 May 2019. The film became the first live-action Pokémon feature and helped bring the franchise's characters into a large-scale Hollywood production.
