Which actor voiced Doc Hudson in Pixar's Cars?

Paul Newman voiced Doc Hudson in Pixar's Cars.

Doc Hudson is the town doctor of Radiator Springs, but he is secretly the retired Fabulous Hudson Hornet, a celebrated racer from an earlier era. Newman's own history as an actor and racing enthusiast made him a particularly fitting performer for the character. His calm, authoritative voice gives Doc both veteran credibility and emotional depth.

Newman was a well-known motorsport competitor who raced at events including the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Cars marked his final voice-acting performance in a feature film released during his lifetime. James Garner, who voiced the character of Uncle Topolino in Cars 2, is sometimes confused with Newman, but he did not voice Doc Hudson. Doc's racing identity is also distinct from Newman's real-life career.
