Which actor portrays Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse?

Oscar Isaac portrays the ancient mutant Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse.

The film introduces Apocalypse as En Sabah Nur, a mutant who has survived for thousands of years by transferring his consciousness into other bodies. After awakening in 1983, he recruits four powerful mutants as his Horsemen and seeks to reshape the world according to his vision.

Isaac is known for films including Inside Llewyn Davis, Ex Machina, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. His Apocalypse performance involved extensive makeup, prosthetics, and a large costume that visually enlarged the character beyond Isaac’s natural appearance.

The other major mutant roles belong to different actors: James McAvoy plays Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender plays Magneto, and Evan Peters plays Quicksilver. The film was directed by Bryan Singer and released in 2016.
