Which actor portrayed Harry Potter in all eight films based on J.K. Rowling’s novels?

The story behind the answer

Daniel Radcliffe portrayed Harry Potter in all eight films based on J.K. Rowling’s novels.

Radcliffe played Harry from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, released in 2001, through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, released in 2011. He was cast while still a child and played the character across the full decade-long film series.

Rupert Grint played Ron Weasley, while Emma Watson played Hermione Granger. These three actors formed the central screen trio, but Radcliffe was the performer who portrayed the title character in every film.

The eight-film structure resulted from splitting the final novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, into two parts. The films were produced by Warner Bros. and adapted the seven main novels, with Chris Columbus directing the first two and David Yates directing the final four.
