Which actor plays the title character throughout the "Rambo" film series?

Sylvester Stallone plays the title character, John Rambo, throughout the Rambo film series. Stallone portrays the character in First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III, Rambo, and Rambo: Last Blood, making Rambo one of his defining screen roles.

John Rambo originated in David Morrell’s 1972 novel First Blood. The first film adaptation, released in 1982, presents him as a traumatized Vietnam War veteran whose survival skills bring him into conflict with a small-town sheriff and local police. The sequels expand the character into a larger action-film hero involved in military missions and international conflicts.

The title can cause a minor mix-up because “Rambo” refers both to the character and to the franchise. It is also sometimes confused with Stallone’s other famous action role, Rocky Balboa. Unlike the Rambo films, the animated television series Rambo: The Force of Freedom did not feature Stallone’s voice; actor Neil Ross voiced the character there.
