Marcus Brody is an archaeology professor, museum curator, and longtime colleague of Indiana Jones. He represents the academic and museum world that contrasts with Indiana’s field adventures, while also providing institutional support and comic moments.
Elliott first played Brody in Raiders of the Lost Ark in 1981 and returned for The Last Crusade in 1989. The character is absent from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom because that story is set earlier than Raiders and does not include him.
