Which actor played Troy Bolton in 'High School Musical'?

Zac Efron played Troy Bolton in the High School Musical film series.

Troy is the captain of East High’s basketball team, but he secretly wants to audition for the school musical. His romance and musical partnership with Gabriella Montez, played by Vanessa Hudgens, drive much of the first film’s story.

High School Musical premiered on Disney Channel in January 2006 and became a major breakthrough for Efron. He returned as Troy in High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the latter becoming the franchise’s first theatrical release.

A common mix-up concerns the singing voice: Efron played Troy, but Drew Seeley performed much of Troy’s singing on the first film’s soundtrack and supplied vocals for the concert tour. That does not change Efron’s role as the actor portraying Troy.
