Which actor played political strategist Bruno Gianelli?

Ron Silver played political strategist Bruno Gianelli in The West Wing.

Gianelli is a recurring political operator who first appears during the Bartlet administration and later becomes closely associated with presidential candidate Arnold Vinick. He is portrayed as experienced, blunt, calculating, and highly effective at navigating campaign politics.

Silver brought substantial stage and screen experience to the role. He won the 1988 Tony Award for Best Actor for Speed-the-Plow and also appeared in films such as Reversal of Fortune and Timecop. His performance as Gianelli earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

A common mix-up is confusing Silver with other major West Wing performers, including Richard Schiff, who played communications director Toby Ziegler, or John Spencer, who played Chief of Staff Leo McGarry. Gianelli is a political strategist rather than a White House staff member.
