Which actor played Peter Banning’s son Jack in the 1991 film Hook?

The story behind the answer

Charlie Korsmo played Peter Banning’s son Jack in Steven Spielberg’s 1991 film Hook.

In Hook, Jack Banning is the older child of Peter Banning, an adult lawyer who has forgotten that he was once Peter Pan. Captain Hook kidnaps Jack and his sister Maggie, forcing Peter to return to Neverland and recover the identity he abandoned.

Korsmo’s performance is central to the film’s family story because Jack initially feels neglected by his work-focused father. Their relationship changes as Peter remembers his past and learns to value imagination, play, and family time.

Charlie Korsmo was a child actor whose other notable early film roles included Dick Tracy and What About Bob? He later left acting and pursued an academic career. Jack is sometimes confused with Rufio, another major young character in Hook, but Rufio is played by Dante Basco.
