Which actor played Dr. Raymond Langston on CSI?

The story behind the answer

Laurence Fishburne played Dr. Raymond Langston on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Langston joined the Las Vegas Crime Lab as a CSI after first encountering the team during a murder investigation.

The character was introduced during the show's ninth season, following major cast changes that included the departure of William Petersen's Gil Grissom. Langston brought a different perspective to the team: before becoming a crime-scene investigator, he was a medical doctor and university professor fascinated by the biological roots of violent behavior.

Fishburne appeared as Langston from 2008 to 2011, spanning seasons nine through eleven and totaling 60 episodes. Langston's storyline became increasingly personal when he pursued serial killer Nate Haskell, whose crimes connected to Langston's fears about heredity, violence, and whether people can be predisposed to murder.

Gary Sinise played Mac Taylor on CSI: NY, William Petersen played Gil Grissom on the original CSI, and Ted Danson played D.B. Russell. All were prominent CSI franchise figures, but Fishburne was the actor associated with Raymond Langston.
