Andy Daly guest-voices Krombopulos Michael in Rick and Morty season 2. Daly performs the cheerful Gromflomite assassin in “Mortynight Run,” the season’s second episode, which aired on August 2, 2015.
Krombopulos Michael is introduced as one of Rick Sanchez’s best customers. He buys an antimatter gun from Rick for an assassination mission, cheerfully describing his enthusiasm for killing while presenting himself as a friendly professional. Morty objects to the assassin’s total lack of ethical restraint and eventually interferes with the mission.
The character’s fate is one of the episode’s best-known dark jokes: Morty crashes Rick’s flying car into the building where Krombopulos Michael is working, accidentally crushing him before he can reach his target. That death does not erase the character’s popularity. Krombopulos Michael later appears in comics and video games, while Daly’s voice performance helped make the character’s polite, upbeat catchphrase—“Oh boy, here I go killing again”—memorable. Matt Walsh instead voices Sleepy Gary, Patton Oswalt voices Beta 7, and Jemaine Clement voices Fart.
