Joe Alwyn received a producer credit on Taylor Swift’s song “august.”
The track lists Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and Alwyn as producers. Swift and Antonoff also wrote the song, while Alwyn’s contribution was credited in production rather than songwriting.
Alwyn was an actor and musician who worked with Swift on several Folklore and Evermore recordings under the pseudonym William Bowery. His involvement became a notable part of the albums’ behind-the-scenes history because Swift had not previously publicly presented him as a songwriting collaborator.
The credit is easy to mix up with Aaron Dessner, another major Folklore collaborator. Dessner performed with Swift and Antonoff at the 2021 Grammy Awards, but he is not listed as a producer of “august.”
