The 2026 Lollapalooza act that released the 2023 album 3D Country is Geese.
Geese are a New York City indie rock band whose music draws on post-punk, art rock, blues rock, and alternative country. Their album 3D Country was released on June 23, 2023, through Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam. The title track was one of the album’s advance singles.
The record marked a sharp expansion of the band’s sound beyond the tense post-punk character associated with their debut, Projector. Its songs use cowboy imagery, theatrical storytelling, unusual grooves, and genre collisions, giving the album a deliberately surreal take on Americana. Critics often described it as adventurous and genre-bending rather than straightforward country music.
There is a small cataloging wrinkle: Geese promoted 3D Country as their second album, but it is technically their third studio album if the band’s 2018 self-released debut, A Beautiful Memory, is counted. The album was followed by the 4D Country EP in October 2023. Geese are listed among the acts for Chicago’s Lollapalooza, scheduled for July 30–August 2, 2026.
