The 2026 Lollapalooza act formed by brothers Gene and Terrence Thornton is Clipse. The Virginia Beach hip-hop duo performs under the names Malice and Pusha T, respectively.
The brothers began pursuing music together in the early 1990s and attracted the attention of Pharrell Williams, who helped connect them with The Neptunes production team. That partnership shaped Clipse’s sharp, minimalist sound and became central to the duo’s breakthrough.
Their major-label debut, Lord Willin’, arrived in 2002 and included “Grindin’,” while Hell Hath No Fury followed in 2006. A common mix-up is identifying either brother by his birth name rather than his stage name: Gene Thornton is Malice, now often styled No Malice, and Terrence Thornton is Pusha T. Clipse is the duo’s group name, not a solo alias.
