Which 2017 live-action Disney musical features a beauty and a beast?

The 2017 live-action Disney musical featuring a beauty and a beast is Beauty and the Beast.

Directed by Bill Condon, the film is a live-action remake of Disney’s 1991 animated classic, which itself adapts the traditional French fairy tale most famously associated with Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont. Emma Watson plays Belle, while Dan Stevens portrays the Beast through a combination of live performance and digital effects.

The 2017 film retained familiar songs by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, including “Belle,” “Be Our Guest,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” while adding new songs written by Menken and Tim Rice. A common mix-up is confusing it with Cinderella (2015) or Aladdin (2019), two other Disney live-action remakes; neither centers on the Belle-and-Beast story. The film became a major global hit, earning more than $1.2 billion worldwide.
