Skyrim VR is the 2017 game that brought a full virtual-reality version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Bethesda Game Studios developed it, and Bethesda Softworks published it.
The VR edition adapts Skyrim’s large open-world role-playing experience for head-mounted play. Players can explore the province of Skyrim, fight creatures, use weapons and magic, and complete quests while viewing the world stereoscopically. Its motion controls were designed to support actions such as aiming a bow and swinging a weapon.
Skyrim VR was first released for PlayStation VR in November 2017 and later came to PC-based VR platforms. It is distinct from Fallout 4 VR, another Bethesda adaptation that uses the same general approach but takes place in a post-apocalyptic setting rather than the fantasy world of Tamriel.
