Answer
The Undertones
Answer
The Undertones
The Undertones is the 1979 album by the Undertones that includes "Teenage Kicks."
Released on 13 May 1979 by Sire Records, The Undertones was the band's debut studio album. It contains 15 songs, including "Teenage Kicks," "Get Over You," and "Jimmy, Jimmy." The Undertones came from Derry, Northern Ireland, and their direct, melodic style helped distinguish them from more abrasive punk acts.
"Teenage Kicks" had first appeared as a 1978 single on Good Vibrations, the Belfast label run by Terri Hooley. BBC radio presenter John Peel famously championed the song, helping it reach a much wider audience. The later Undertones albums Hypnotised, Positive Touch, and The Sin of Pride are sometimes confused with the debut, but none is the album titled The Undertones.
