Which 1970 festival became the last major event of the 1960s counterculture era?

The story behind the answer

The 1970 Isle of Wight Festival became the last major event of the 1960s counterculture era.

Held from August 26 to August 30, 1970, near Freshwater on the Isle of Wight in England, the festival attracted an enormous audience estimated at between 600,000 and 700,000 people. Its lineup included Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Miles Davis, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and Joni Mitchell.

The festival followed the original Woodstock by about a year and is sometimes described as the British counterpart to that event. Its huge attendance caused local concerns and helped prompt later restrictions on large gatherings on the island.

It is not the same as the modern Isle of Wight Festival, which began in 2002 as a separate annual event. The 1970 edition is the historically significant counterculture festival referenced here.
