Where was the 1976 Smile Jamaica concert featuring Bob Marley held?

The 1976 Smile Jamaica concert featuring Bob Marley was held at National Heroes Park in Kingston, Jamaica. The free concert was organized during a period of intense political tension in the country.

Marley agreed to perform at the event as a gesture promoting peace and national unity. Two days before the concert, he, his wife Rita, manager Don Taylor, and others were wounded in an assassination attempt at his Kingston home.

Despite the attack, Marley appeared on stage on 5 December 1976 and performed briefly. His decision became one of the defining public acts of his career, although he left Jamaica soon afterward and spent significant time abroad.

The concert is often confused with the One Love Peace Concert, held in Kingston in 1978. The two events had different names, dates, and political circumstances.
