Answer
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Answer
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The headquarters of the Badminton World Federation is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Badminton World Federation, abbreviated BWF, is the sport's global governing body. It oversees the Laws of Badminton, international competition regulations, world rankings, and major events including the World Championships and the Thomas, Uber and Sudirman Cups.
The federation was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation. Its founding members included Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. The organization adopted the name Badminton World Federation in 2006.
Kuala Lumpur is also closely associated with international badminton administration and competition. The city has hosted major badminton events and is in Malaysia, one of the sport's most successful countries. The BWF headquarters should not be confused with the headquarters of national associations such as Badminton England or Badminton Association of Malaysia.
