Hermès’s flagship store at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is in Paris.
The address is in the 8th arrondissement, one of the French capital’s best-known luxury-shopping districts. Hermès opened its store there in 1880, helping establish a prominent Paris base as the company developed beyond its original workshop.
The Faubourg Saint-Honoré location is strongly associated with the house, but it is not the company’s only important Paris site. Hermès also maintains manufacturing, office, and other retail locations in France and around the world.
A common mix-up is treating the address as the company’s founding location. Thierry Hermès started the business in 1837, while the flagship shop on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré opened decades later. The two dates mark different stages of the company’s history.
