Where does Taylor Swift’s “august” appear in the Folklore track listing?

Taylor Swift’s “august” is the eighth track on Folklore.

Its position places it near the middle of the standard album, after “seven” and before “This Is Me Trying.” The sequence helps connect the song to the album’s broader movement between childhood memories, imagined characters, regret, and romantic longing.

“august” is also notable because Folklore is Swift’s eighth studio album, giving the song and album a small numerical coincidence. The track number should not be confused with its release date or the month named in its title.

The album’s standard edition contains 16 tracks, while the deluxe edition adds “the lakes.” Thus, “august” remains track eight in the original sequence regardless of the later bonus material.
