Where does Nemo get taken to?

Nemo is taken to Sydney, Australia.

After Nemo swims toward a boat near the reef, a scuba diver captures him and carries him away. The diver is Philip Sherman, a dentist whose office and fish tank are in Sydney. Marlin follows the clues and eventually reaches the city with Dory.

Nemo spends much of the film in Sherman's aquarium, where he meets the Tank Gang. The group includes Gill, Peach, Bloat, Bubbles, Deb, Gurgle and Jacques. They devise a plan to escape before Nemo can be given to Sherman's niece, Darla, whose rough handling has harmed previous pet fish.

Sydney is not merely a destination named in dialogue: the film uses recognizable Australian settings, including Sydney Harbour and the East Australian Current. Marlin and Dory reach the harbour after traveling through the ocean and being expelled from a whale. Nemo later escapes the office through its plumbing and reunites with his father.
