Where did Crossfade begin?
Answer
South Carolina
Answer
South Carolina
Crossfade began in South Carolina, specifically in Columbia.
The American rock band formed in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1991. The original lineup centered on vocalist and guitarist Ed Sloan and bassist Mitch James, with drummer Brian Geiger joining soon afterward.
The group did not begin under the name Crossfade. It was initially called The Nothing and later performed as Sugardaddy Superstar. In 2002, the band adopted the name Crossfade, shortly before its music attracted industry attention and led to a deal connected with Columbia Records.
Crossfade’s self-titled debut album arrived in 2004 and included the radio hit “Cold.” The album reached number 41 on the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified platinum in the United States. The band’s South Carolina origin is sometimes confused with Columbia Records, the label associated with its breakthrough; they are unrelated uses of “Columbia.”
